Update on Everything

Alright you car nuts and nut jobs, every once in a while, I'm gonna hop on here and give y'all a web-wide update on the automotive world. And no, Griffin, I'm not turning the blog into a repost site, so don't get your panties in a wad. Well let's see what's goin on...

From autonews.com, there are rumors of a RWD large sedan roaming about in detroit near the GM proving grounds, so for all those Cadillac fans out there, looks like y'all get a fun new toy. Check it out here. Now I was hatin' on Toyota for all the recalls, but now it looks like the Nissan Frontier gets another recall too. I'm pretty partial to Nissan, but you gotta wonder why the circuit breakers don't work. Here's the article. Tesla is up and coming in America apparently as their stocks reach record highs, and after Honda's Acura stopped selling so well, they figured they'd spend some more money on it. Look at that and more on their home page. Can't look at everything unless you're subscribed though, so that's a bummer.

From Jalopnik, Ford is dropping Microsoft for Blackberry in their cars, the 2015 Citroën C1 is hideous, F1 cars are getting hacked these days, and Jaguar decided to put out a really fun wagon. That and more right here.

From autoblog (far less important than thrown rods blog...), Nissan, Mazda, Bentley, everyone else getting ready for Geneva, VW trying to save the plant in TN, and a new worlds fastest car (270.49 mph). As always, I can't cover it all, so check out the rest.

I'd say that could keep y'all busy for a while. If you have any other auto sites you'd like to see on here, leave us a little comment or shoot us an email to thrownrodsblog@gmail.com. Griffin would like to hear from you, as he is pretty consistently occupied with My Little Pony, and needs a break from that I'm sure.

EDIT: I'm sorry y'all, I really tried to keep it to actual pertinent news, but I couldn't just not include this. Russia made a bear-proof, six-wheel, floating truck.... yep. Find it at the NBC link, but let's be real. It's from Jalopnik. Of course it is. How could that article not be Jalopnik? Enjoy your day everyone.

Anyone wanna buy us this project?

As I am intensely busy, I feel like I owe it to yall to post something between now and my next three day study session. So here it is- give me money. I've always wanted to bring something like this back to life, but I've never had the means, and if I did, I'd probably spend it elsewhere. Like save it for a dream car. But I really want this truck to come back. It would be sad to see it rot.

It's just a good 'ol 68 chevy short bed. Rolling chassis, almost in good shape? I don't know that I'd give him the $2,500 he's asking, but Man, that'd be a fun restoration. Anyway, just food for thought. If you've got a spare three grand you'd like to throw my way, I wouldn't say no.

Keep on keepin on,
